What is Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep Tissue Massage works on the deeper muscle structures and fibres of the body. The therapist works with a firmer and more intense pressure ensuring that chronic muscle tension, knots and strains are all released from the problematic area.

How will it help me?

If you suffer with long standing aches and pains or have ailments that won’t ever seem to go away, then a deep tissue massage can help. By breaking down muscle wastage this allows access deep into the muscles and joints, breaking down tension, knots and day-to-day stresses to get to the route of the problem.

What are the benefits of Deep Tissue Massage?

  • Deep Tissue and muscle release
  • Pain management
  • Improvement in posture and range of movement
  • Decreasing and eliminating muscle wastage
  • Eradicating built up muscle tension

How many treatments should I have?

This will depend on your specific condition. Often my clients feel immediate pain relief after just one deep tissue massage, or as one of my clients said that they felt like they were “walking on air!” NB, Watford

However it’s important to be realistic in what can be achieved within a 30 or 60 mins treatment. It certainly isn’t the case of the more pressure given, the more the knots will go away. In order to fully alleviate all of your built-up tension, stress and knots, you will be encouraged to have regular deep tissue massages, either weekly, fortnightly or for body maintenance every four to six weeks.

It’s also important to add that when combining deep tissue massage with regular stretching, exercise and making better lifestyle choices, this  will help to; ease pain, tension and stress, improve your muscle memory, aid repair, and increase mobility and flexibility.
